According to reports, a former 700 Club producer, Lance Shultz, is suing CBN after firing him because he took time off to take care of his sick daughter. Worked in the Nashville studios, was granted extended leave but said he was dismissed upon his return to the network. He got fired last August.

Pat Robertson and his family has become one of the top doners for Virginia Governor Republican Nominee Bob McDonnell. They have given him
about $40,000 according to the Washington Post:

“Republican gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell received a trio of last-minute donations totaling $40,000 from religious broadcaster Pat Robertson, his son and daughter-in-law.
Robertson contributed $25,000 on Oct. 20, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, a nonpartisan tracker of money in politics. His son, Tim, donated $5,000 Friday for in-kind services (listed as catering) and his wife, Lisa, donated $10,000 to McDonnell today.

McDonnell said in an interview earlier this year that he and Robertson only speak a couple times a year. But Robertson has become one of his biggest donors.
Robertson donated $35,000 to his campaign for governor (the other $10,000 donation was in December 2008) and $66,000 to his race for attorney general, according to VPAP.
Tim Robertson donated $24,000 to McDonnell’s campaign for governor in 2008 and 2009, but nothing since April until the recent donation. He had previously donated $10,000 to his campaign for attorney general and $5,000 to his campaign for House of Delegates.
Another son, Gordon Robertson, contributed $500 to McDonnell’s run for attorney general.”

The festival has become one of the leading film festivals worldwide for family friendly films. Dr. Crouch will be receiving the award for his years of meritorious service to Christian broadcasting and filmmaking.

The Redemptive Film Festival, has attracted hundreds of entries from some 28 countries worldwide and has created waves throughout the international film community. The Virginia Beach based festival is aimed at providing a forum for filmmakers (professionals or students), to showcase and be rewarded for their work on themes that depict the redemptive purposes of God, either through human beings or supernatural occurrences. All proceeds from the grand awards ceremony will be donated to helping to free and empower the victims of modern day slavery. There are some 27 million slaves in the world today.

For the purposes of this competition, a redemptive film is any film whose main purpose is to depict the act of redeeming, rescuing, or delivering any person from a state of crisis or helplessness. Entries were judged by a panel of professionals with years of experience in many aspects of cinema and television. The films were judged in three categories: Student, Professional and “Distinctly Gospel,” a new film category created by the Redemptive Film Festival. Winners include comedy shorts, short and full length narratives, documentaries, music videos and animation. The show promises to bring good, clean family fun, free of indecent language, gratuitous violence, sex or nudity to Hampton Roads.

He’s healthy again and back on the 700 Club. Robertson went through heart surgery about 3 weeks ago. He appeared on the show yesterday and thanked the audience for their prayers and support.

Pat Robertson is back on TV, less than 3 weeks after undergoing 10 hours of surgery to repair an irregular heartbeat.

Robertson opened Tuesday’s broadcast of “The 700 Club” with an enthusiastic “I’m back!” and thanked viewers for their prayers.

The 79-year-old Robertson appeared somewhat weakened from the ordeal and predicted it would take 3 months for him “to completely get well.” His son, Gordon Robertson, had anchored the program during his father’s absence.

The powder in an envelope mailed to CBN is whey powder, tests confirmed.

Officials are trying to find the person who sent the otherwise empty envelope to CBN, forcing to close the CBN Support Building where the mail is sorted.

Four people developed rashes, which weren’t connected to the powder.

Fire trucks and ambulances responded around 10:00 a.m.

The four people are two mail room workers, a CBN security guard and a U.S. postal service worker who came to CBN to investigate powder that was in a pre-addressed letter.

Supposedly there was nothing else in the letter and no return address.

The powder was driven to Richmond for testing by Va. State Police.

Around 11:30 a.m., the building was closed and all the employees were sent home.

The employees had to leave because the air conditioning system was shut down as a precaution.

The four people who showed signs of a rash were sent into decontamination unit and were in a room, isolated from others.

Late afternoon, the four people were cleared to go home.

The classic Christian band, Jars of Clay, performed today at Regent University Chapel. The band ministered over a packed crowd and answered a few questions from the Internet. The group made an appearance at the 700 Club this morning. After the concert, Jars of Clay told us they had a great time and loved the atmosphere of the event.

There was a press conference today at the Regent University Library where Reverend Pat Robertson released his new book today, “Right on the Money: Financial Advice for Tough Times,” dealing with personal finances. The book comes at a right time with the economic crisis. His book contains about wealth, John Rockefeller, starting a business, managing money, family, the baby boomers fade, current economic times and several other things. The book is available in most book sellers. Robertson has written about thirteen books. Today’s press conference will be aired on C-SPAN’s Book TV.
