Reagan Symposium 2008 was a success with key speakers like Michael Barone, Paul Kengor, Steven Hayword, and etc. Most of the symposium of course was highlighting the success of the Reagan Administration but the 2008 Election was also brought up. Michael Barone was guiding us the transformation of politics since the Reagan Era. He also explained McCain’s success in the primaries of how assassination of Bhutto influenced in his campaign.
There were two sessions: the morning and the afternoon. Many people showed up from different parts of the region to honor a man of great success. The afternoon session filled up to witness Barone’s session. There were many students from different schools like Liberty University that had a group of 30. At the end of the symposium, there was a Q & A session. One young gentleman asked if Nancy Reagan’s endorsement toward McCAin could help him draw Reagan conservatives, but all the speakers agreed that it wouldn’t.
In conclusion, Ronald Reagan Symposium gaved us a reminder that Reagan Conservatism still exists in our political philosophies. The next one is in Feb. 9th 2009.
